Around the Corner

By Charles Hanson Towne
(One of the classic inspirational poems)

Around the corner I have a friend,
In this great city that has no end,
Yet the days go by and weeks rush on,
And before I know it, a year is gone.
And I never see my old friend’s face,
For life is a swift and terrible race,

He knows I like him just as well,
As in the days when I rang his bell.
And he rang mine but we were younger then,
And now we are busy, tired men.
Tired of playing a foolish game,
Tired of trying to make a name.
“Tomorrow” I say! “I will call on Jim
Just to show that I’m thinking of him.”

But tomorrow comes and tomorrow goes,
And distance between us grows and grows.
Around the corner, yet miles away,
“Here’s a telegram sir,”…. “Jim died today.”
And that’s what we get, and deserve in the end:
Around the corner, a vanished friend.

Anyway

By Unknown
(One of the classic inspirational poems)

People are unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered.
Love them anyway!

If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives.
Do good anyway!

If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies.
Succeed anyway!

The good you do today, will be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway!

Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.
Be honest and frank anyway!

The biggest person with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest people with the smallest minds;
Think big anyway!

People favor underdogs, but follow only top dogs.
Fight for underdogs anyway!

What you spend years building up may be destroyed overnight.
Build anyway!

People really need help, but will attack you if you help them.
Help them anyway!

Give the world the best you have and it may kick you in the teeth.
Give the world the best you’ve got anyway!

Anything is Possible

By Unknown
(One of the classic inspirational poems)

If there was ever a time to dare,
to make a difference,
to embark on something worth doing,
IT IS NOW.

Not for any grand cause, necessarily…
but for something that tugs at your heart,
something that’s your inspiration,
something that’s your dream.
You owe it to yourself to make your days here count.
HAVE FUN.
DIG DEEP.
STRETCH.
DREAM BIG.

Know, though, that things worth doing seldom come easy.
There will be good days.
And there will be bad days.
There will be times when you want to turn around,
pack it up, and call it quits.
Those times tell you
that you are pushing yourself, that you are not afraid
to learn by trying.

PERSIST.
Because with an idea,
determination, and the right tools,
you can do great things.
Let your instincts, your intellect,
and your heart, guide you.

TRUST.
Believe in the incredible power of the human mind.
Of doing something that makes a difference.
Of working hard.
Of laughing and hoping.
Of lazy afternoons.
Of lasting friends.
Of all the things that will cross your path this year.
The start of something new brings the hope of something great,
ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.

Always Remember Your Achievements with Pride

(One of the classic inspirational poems)
by Linda

In everyone’s life there are moments of pride and accomplishment that are remembered forever.

Through the years, you have set goals and met each challenge with enough courage and determination to overcome the many obstacles that you’ve encountered along the way.

Success is not measured by how well you fulfil the expectations of others, but by how honestly you live up to your own expectations.

Because you have been true to yourself in the pursuit of your dream, you have earned this moment and the right to be proud of your accomplishment.

Always Keep Your Dreams Alive

(One of the classic inspirational poems)
by Unknown

Now is a time for you to celebrate … the accomplishment of
a dream you have worked so hard to realize.
You have shown so many people how special you are.

Now is the time to begin to pursue the next path, to
reach out for the next star, and to achieve the things
that are so important to you. Always keep your dreams alive.
And keep them coming true
